I read the above post on a 2012 conservative website and felt compelled to address the somewhat naiveté of the author.

I think that many liberals and even independents have a skewed view of the Republican Party intentions. While some Republicans, Democrats and Independents (humans) are self absorbed and seek to enrich themselves without consideration of others, I would like to believe that the majority of people in all parties are good and giving people, and the idea of sharing is not lost on any of them.
